Career
Jubin Nautiyal showed an interest in music when he was just four years old. As he grew up, he not only focused on his school studies but also learned music seriously. He started building a strong foundation in classical music and learned to play instruments like the guitar, piano, harmonium, and drums. By the time he was 18, Jubin had become a well-known singer in his hometown, Dehradun.
In 2007, Jubin moved to Mumbai for higher studies and joined Mithibai College. During this time he got the chance to meet A. R. Rahman who appreciated his voice quality and advised him to continue working on exploring his voice for a few more years.
Taking Rahman’s advice, Jubin returned to Dehradun to continue his training with his school music teacher, Mrs. Vandana Srivastava. He also took extra lessons in classical music from Guru Mr. Samant and studied Western music at a music academy in Chennai, where he had the chance to learn from the experienced guitarist, Prasanna.
In 2011, Jubin participated in the Sony Television music reality show X-Factor India, where he made it to the top 25 contestants.
Rise to Fame
After four more years of training and improving his music skills, Jubin finally got his big break in Bollywood. Jubin’s first Bollywood song was “Ek Mulaqat” from the movie Sonali Cable (2014), and it was a hit! He also made his debut in Telugu with the song for Sarrainodu and in Bengali for Aashiqui. However, he became most famous for his work in Hindi music.
With several back-to-back hits, Jubin’s success continued to grow. In 2019, his songs like “Tujhe Kitna Chahein Aur Hum” from Kabir Singh, “Tum Hi Aana” and “Kinna Sona” from Marjaavaan became huge chartbusters.
